About Us – The Story Behind Asad Horticulture
Roots in Bangladesh
Mohammad Asaduzzaman’s story is one of courage and ambition. Born and raised in Bangladesh, Asad grew up surrounded by agricultural traditions. Farming was not new to him; it was a way of life for his community. However, opportunities were limited, and farmers often struggled with climate uncertainty, low profitability, and lack of international exposure.
Asad dreamed of creating something larger than himself—something that would connect his passion for farming with global trade. His journey eventually took him to New Zealand, a country globally recognized for its horticulture excellence, particularly in kiwifruit production.
A New Beginning in New Zealand
When Asad first arrived in New Zealand, he observed the immense potential of kiwifruit farming. The fertile soil, the favorable climate of the Bay of Plenty region, and the country’s strong global reputation for quality fruits convinced him that this was the right place to plant his dream.
Seven years ago, Asad took a bold step. He purchased a five-hectare kiwifruit garden from a native farmer, beginning his new chapter as a horticultural entrepreneur. It wasn’t easy—he had to learn modern cultivation techniques, understand international trade, and manage large-scale farming operations. But Asad’s resilience, combined with his deep respect for the land, made Asad Horticulture flourish.
